13 First Aid and Safety Training is offering an Introductory Course on First Aid for New Parents and Grandparents to members of our community. This is not the full certification course, but a great intro session for those who would like to feel more confident when looking after children. If you take this intro session and then decide you’d like more training, you should sign up for one of their all-day events and get certified.
This session will be held at the Carleton Place Public Library on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 10:30am-12:30pm.
Please register for this session here as spaces are limited. Please feel free to bring babes in arms to this session, but kindly make other arrangements for young children as we will have an active session for the adults.ย You can find out more about the full course by clicking this link.

This is a great introductory course for new parents and grandparents who would like to feel more confident in the case of an emergency with a young child. While this isn't a certificate course, you come away feeling like you've learned some basics.
